REMEMBERING RON TURIELLO

Dear Friends of THE G WORD,

It is with a very heavy heart that I share today the news that our dear Producer Ron Turiello has passed away following a courageous battle with illness over the last several months.

All of us who are working hard on THE G WORD documentary are heartbroken by this news. Please join me in offering our deepest condolences to his wonderful wife, Margret, and his beautiful children, Grace and Marcello.

Due to Covid restrictions, Ron’s funeral and burial will be limited to local family members only in the Bay Area, but when it is safe for us to travel and gather again, Margret tells us there will be a larger celebration of Ron’s life and legacy.

She writes, “… Ron strongly supported many causes close to his heart with his time, talent, and treasure. Of these, he was most heavily invested in two: THE G WORD, a documentary film he conceived of and was producing about giftedness, and SCHOLAR MATCH, an organization he long served on the board of which is devoted to helping first-generation youth get to and through college. To be sure, our movie enterprise stands ready to work hard at ensuring Ron’s legacy in the months and years ahead. It was Ron who brought the idea for this film to my attention back in 2012, and it has been Ron’s generosity and warm heart that has been at the backbone of this project. I will be forever grateful to him. It has been an honor to call him my friend and collaborator.

Rest In Power, Ron. You will be missed by so many.
